    Christmas Cards
It's starting towards that time of year again! Have you decided where to get your Christmas cards yet? If not, here's an opportunity you can't miss!

You may recognize the first card from last year, though I assure you any quality issues I had then have been taken care of since. The second and third cards are new in my Christmas card lineup for this year. All three of these cards are folded, with the image printed on the front and a very unobtrusive "Snowfox Studios" and website URL in pale purple printed on the back.

Size is about 11*14 cm folded for the first and the third card, and about 11*14.5 cm folded for the second.

Cards are 5 SEK ea or 20 SEK for a set of five - you can mix and match these five as you please. If you really need a bunch of cards, you can also purchase five sets of five and get a sixth set free! That's a 33% discount compared to buying the cards individually! Typically ship out next weekday.

Also intending to do a website update fairly soon, and once I've gotten some more current projects out of the way, I also intend to roll out some new really exciting things. Keep your eyes peeled!

    Website Update
The catalog has been updated with two new items and prices have been adjusted for exchange rates, making custom items much more affordable to international customers! A few more sample images have also been added to the catalog.

I hope to be able to rework some of the website code to make updating the site with new items or just adjusting the displayed prices easier. Note that for all custom items, the actual price may deviate somewhat from what is displayed on the catalog, as I will total the transaction in SEK and then convert the sum to USD or Euros. I use XE.com for this conversion, which may be helpful if you want to order something digital delivery and want a more accurate estimate. Unfortunately I cannot provide accurate per-item shipping estimates at this time (due to the weight of things like cardboard backing to protect your art) - I will weigh the items that will go in your shipment and use the Swedish Postal Service's homepage to figure out what your exact shipping will be when you place your order.

Upcoming: Holiday cards. Keep an eye out for them on this journal.

    Christmas Cards
I'm really late posting this; November was crazy, our scanner acted up, and then I went and injured my back on the day I was supposed to be writing this post, so I've been dealing with that. Next year I will be getting things done earlier.

This year's Christmas card features a fox piggyback-riding on a somewhat disgruntled dragon down a snowy slope. I've currently got a print run of 40 cards made, 8 of which are claimed for my own cards, so it's likely if you order that you will get cards from a new run (as my mother is likely to claim the rest and then some!). Due to the rush here, I can not guarantee the print quality of the cards.
They are brighter than this scan, and I'm going to be adjusting them more before making another run, as the sky turned out unexpectedly blotchy in a way that didn't show up on my proofs (and the computer I was doing the Photoshop work on has some really odd color settings on its monitors). The back of the card simply says "Card by Snowfox Studios" and has the URL to the website in a pale purple font, nothing that jumps out at you.

If you want cards, order them ASAP. If you want cards for next year, please wait a week or two to order, and note this in your order, and I'll endeavor to up the print quality of the cards. (These orders will likely not ship out until the new year.)

The cards will fit in standard invitation envelopes, at 11x14 cm folded.

I will ship them out same day if I get payment before about 4pm, even if that means I'll have to borrow a car to make a post office run.

    One day left!
Just a reminder that there's only one day left of the raffle!
I currently have four people holding a total of seven tickets. This means that the prizes will be at least as follows:

2nd prize: $23+ worth of art and/or merchandise

Another ticket will bring that up to 54/27, another four tickets will mean another prize tier is added, and so on.

    It's Drawing Near...
    What's drawing near, you ask?
Why, the day of our big raffle, of course! Today, there's only just over a week left to get your commission lined up and your payment in to make it into the raffle! Together with my summer art card special, this means you may recieve merchandise worth many times what you originally spent if Lady Luck smiles at you! As if the cards weren't a great deal already!

There's also been plenty of art posted over in my personal journal, including more card samples. Can it get any better?

Remember, the raffle tickets aren't exclusive to commissions (though there are plenty of good deals to be had there!), but also apply to things like fanzines, prints and art CDs.
And for every $25 worth of merchandise, you get a free print of your choice from our print catalogue!

There's never been a better time to shop from Snowfox Studios!

    Alternate Payment Methods, Summer Offers
I'd like to formalize a couple of my barter policies. The first one has to do with "pseudo-cash". The following is a list of items which I will consider "cash" for the purpose of payment:

    Free Realms Station Cash cards:
Available from Wal*Mart, 7-Eleven, Toys 'R' Us, CVS, Rite Aid, Speedway, Blockbuster, Target and Best Buy in varying card denominations will give you a 20% bonus. This means that e.g. a $10 card will be good to pay for a $12 purchase.
    EU WoW Prepay cards:
    €34
EU Xbox Live Points Prepaid cards:
    €1.70/100 Points (~€36 for 2100 Points)
    Amazon.com and eBay.com gift certificates
80% of sale price (a $25 item can be paid for with a $20 certificate)

All of these can be delivered by email, saving you the shipping fees that traditional barter would incur -- in the case of prepay cards this means you will have to scratch the card and email me the code. If you would prefer barter for tangible items, please contact me and we'll work something out. For all barter the policy is that I start work when I have the item in hand; in case of prepay cards, when the code has been redeemed.

    Special Summer Offers
Payment for items must be recieved by midnight GMT+1 DST on the date specified.
Through August 15: Recieve one (1) raffle ticket for every $10 spent. The $10 refers to listed price of the item. More details
Through August 31: Recieve one (1) free print for every $25 spent. The $25 refers to listed price of the item. Print catalogue
Through August 31: A full-color, postcard-sized commission on cardstock, with a simple background for $10, free shipping. More details

    Minor Website Update
Got the release date info for Intervention at White Sow 2 edited, added a link to this blog as well as its Atom and RSS feeds to the About page. June 1: The page now has a sample image for the sketchbooks. Image quality is still not nearly what I'd wish for but it'll do to show what it's about until I get a chance to snap a better picture.

During the months of June, July and August only:
Recieve one (1) raffle ticket for each $10 spent good through August 15 only
Recieve one (1) free print from the print catalogue for each $25 spent

The raffle prizes will total at least the value of the tickets. So if there are a total of 10 tickets in the raffle, there will be $100 worth of prizes. These prizes may include commissions, prints, originals or something else from the catalogue. The exact number of prizes depends on the number of tickets awarded. The number of prizes awarded will not exceed the number of people in the drawing. Note that a prize may include several items and that there is no guarantee that a single person will not win more than one prize.

1-5 tickets: 1 prize, at least $10-$50 value
6-10 tickets and at least two people holding tickets: 2 prizes, at least $40-$66 and $20-$33 value
And so on. The value of prizes is decided on roughly a 1:1/2:1/4 etc ratio.

The drawing will take place on August 16th. Tickets to the raffle will be awarded for payments recieved by 23:59:59 Aug 15 GMT+1 DST only.

    Snowfox Studios Website Update
The catalogue on the website has been updated. I forgot to edit the release date for Intervention at White Sow 2, suffice to say due to my ex (who was layouting the thing) breaking up with me last spring, I've not managed to finish it up yet. I'm going to give it a try, but there's no preliminary release date as of right now.

Other than that, well... I updated prices to better reflect current exchange rates. I am very sorry that this negatively impacts American customers, but there is nothing I can do about this. I did lower my source price for con badges, as I felt $20 would be too steep an asking price, but even with that adjustment they still increased a bit. I hope you understand that this is not so much a matter of me raising my prices as it is a matter of me keeping my prices where they were. Do note that I have elected to honor the old prices for all fanzines, however. And European customers may be pleased to hear that another effect of this change is the price for Symphonies in Fur Minor dropping significantly in Euro and SEK, as the source price for that portfolio is in USD.

Two new items were added to the catalogue, and I am going to be adding sample images for more things (like the sketchbooks) to the website some time this summer, if I remember.

Another update will likely show up in a week or two when my summer break starts. It should include the edits mentioned above (more sample images, fixed release dates), as well as possibly another thing or two. Pages I'm working on at present include a TOS page and possibly a list of barter suggestions. I am hoping that my [info]musicportfolio2 CDs will be recovered at this year's AC (they were most likely accidentally stored away with the con's Lost-and-Found stuff).

I am still looking for a replacement Genesis.

    Still taking suggestions for prints.

    Happy New Year!
    Special offer!
While supplies last, valid in January and February only.
I am (very slowly) doing some spring cleaning. In order to get something resembling order in my life I need to get rid of some stuff that's currently mainly taking up space. The sketchbooks mentioned in this journal's userinfo are among the things I need to sell. As such, by adding $3 to the shipping cost for any physical media purchase from Snowfox Studios you will recieve one of these sketchbooks along with your order. The normal rate for these is $10 including shipping, which frankly is me underselling myself in the first place. Along with the things listed on the website, I also have three copies of this limited edition print left. They are going for $10 -- I really cannot go lower as they were printed at a print shop which cost me a fair bit of money.

Also note that all fanzines are sold while supplies last.

I am still willing to trade retro gaming goodness for art. Exact rates of exchange can be discussed, I'm not fussy.

    Status for other projects:
</a></b></a>[info]recipeportfolio: Belated yet again. Will be resuming work when I have access to InDesign again (had to de-activate CS2 on my computer). Entirely my fault.
Secret project: Also belated, and will be adjusted a bit due to changes in my life.
Intervention at White Sow 2: The person working with me on converting my crazy comic layouts into comic pages is no longer available to me. I will be sitting down with this eventually, but at present I do not know when.
Tales from Avelyon High volume 2: Legal Trouble: Slowly making progress. Very slowly.

    Still taking suggestions for prints.

    Commission Offer
I am a very sad geek. The Sega Genesis I bought off eBay has turned out to be bricked. There is nothing visibly obviously wrong with it, but it will not work. Doesn't even turn on. As such, I'm willing to offer a two-character commission, any rating, and possibly a few extras (Christmas cards or a few prints) in exchange for a working Sega Genesis. I need the console and would prefer to also get the original AC adapter which is guaranteed to work; anything beyond that is a bonus.

If you've got a working Genesis kicking around this is an excellent opportunity.
If you don't, it's looking like you can get them for like $10 on eBay if you keep on your toes.
I just can't be assed with the hassle right now.

So you give me retro gaming goodness, I give you arts. Fair deal, no?

As always, my VCL Gallery is a good place as any to find samples of my work.
I start work when I've confirmed the console works; not doing so in the first place is what screwed me over this time.

    Status for other projects:
[info]recipeportfolio: Belated yet again. Will be resuming work when I have access to InDesign again (had to de-activate CS2 on my computer). Entirely my fault.
Secret project: Also belated, and will be adjusted a bit due to changes in my life.

Both of the above will hopefully be available some time early 2008.

    Still taking suggestions for prints.

    State of Snowfox Studios
I am now starting work on the last of my outstanding commissions -- if I owe you artwork and I don't contact you within a week or so, please email me and remind me, as I may have lost your information. Procastination, relationship issues and computer issues have gotten in the way of my work and I would like to apologize most sincerely to everyone affected. I'm trying to grab myself by the scruff of my neck and improve my work ethic, because I don't enjoy having outstanding commissions, trust me.

I will also be finalizing the [info]recipeportfolio and distributing it to participants; it should be available for purchase on the Snowfox Studios webpage as well as from other contributors by the end of August at the very latest.

I still have [info]musicportfolio CDs available, and will be recieving a very limited number of [info]musicportfolio2 CDs. These will be made available on the webpage when I have them in hand, I don't have a time estimate for this yet.

The third thing I'm doing now is preparing for MFF. I will most likely have one (adult) CD portfolio debuting there, and am hoping to have a number of new prints available as well. This is where you come in.

If you have suggestions for something you'd like to see on a print, please feel free to email me or leave a comment to this post.
I'm looking for fairly general suggestions -- these are for prints which will be sold to and should appeal to a wider public, not a cheap personal commission for you. Both general audience and mature print ideas are welcome. Species, activities, a certain scene, a particular character (of mine!), something else entirely I did not already think of... I can't guarantee I will have any given suggestion ready for MFF, but I will try to up my art production a fair bit as I'm dissatisfied with how little I've gotten done lately.

If I create an image based on your suggestion, you will be eligible to purchase that print at ½ off at MFF only. I will be keeping track of this so please include your badge name for MFF with your suggestion if you will be there. This of course only applies if you are otherwise eligible to purchase that print and while stocks last (not that I think this will be a problem). The offer also depends on my securing a spot in the Artists' Alley; if I cannot secure a spot the people eligible for the discount will be emailed after the con and offered some kind of as-of-yet unspecified compensation.

    Site Update
I've done some minor site updates. Nothing fancy, mostly just changed some text around. If you've been wanting to commission adult work, or order adult prints, but been discouraged by having to go through Western Union, you may have interest in the new payment policies I introduced when the site went back up: I will now accept payment in barter from non-Swedish customers. I have already recieved a few commissions taking advantage of this new policy, and am working on completing them.

My VCL gallery should update within a week or so; I've got several pieves just waiting for color work.

    A New Year is Here

And with the arrival of the new year, commissions are once again open. Email addresses and website may remain down for another bit, though we're working on bringing everything back ASAP. If your request is time-sensitive, I can always be contacted through this journal; just leave me a note and I'll get back to you.

The same goes for print sales, CD sales, etc. Just let me know.

    Have a nice new year!

(As for new plans for Snowfox Studios for 2007, I'm working on a secret project (maybe more than one, though the others are tentative and depend on free time to a greater extent) that will hopefully be presented at Midwest FurFest 07, and am also involved in several portfolios that will be released this year. Keep your eyes open!)

    Regarding Downtime
I'm in the process of moving over to a new server, so in the meantime... There's downtime. Can't do much about it, unfortunately, without having a mess to clean up later.
I'll go in and see if I can point snowfox.se to this LJ for now. Didn't think to do that earlier.

Also please note that commissions are once again closed. I got what I wanted, Christmas will be great, I need to sit down and work on another piece of Christmas gift art next. If you're so inclined, keep an eye on my VCL recents page to see what I'm up to. Some pieces (notably, portfolio pieces) will be watermarked, but other than that, I still haven't gotten into the practise of doing that. I probably ought to.

I have a complete academic essay draft to write in less than a week, right now, but once that's done, there should be at least one more piece going up. So keep your eyes open around next weekend or so.

    Limited Commission Slots Open!
This offer has expired! Keep an eye on this space and try again another time!

Due to the upcoming holiday known as "Christmas", I could do with supplementing my funds a little bit right now. Thus, I am opening two PG-rated commission slots or one adult slot, first come, first serve. The quality of artwork offered for this commission would be roughly equal to what I do for LiveJournal art exchanges, possibly with a little more shading, depending on what you compare to.

    Examples: Work-safe ||| NSFW

I will only take the adult commission as barter for an item I want; this item is $59.99 on GameStop.com, shipping $29.99 directly to me. Item must be new. This is honestly the cheapest I have been able to find the item online, eBay BiN items included; if you wish to have it shipped to your home and then ship it to me you may do so, but you may not save much money. The only exception to this is Swedish citizens, who may pay by a direct bank account transfer per special agreement. All other items purchased by non-Swedish citizens must be paid for by PayPal.

Please be aware that I will not start work on this/these commission(s) until I have recieved the payment, whether it's in barter or monetary form.

The time frame for completing these commissions is two weekends (and the time between them). If I recieve your payment on a Monday, it may take up to 14 days for me to finish work on your commission, if I recieve it on a Friday, I will guarantee your work in a maximum of 10 days. The work may be finished earlier, but due to other committments I cannot guarantee that will be so.

If I recieve your payment November 24 or earlier, you will definitely have your items before Christmas (the Swedish postal service says 3-6 working days for letter post to the US, but mail may be belated around Christmas), so take the chance to order something for that special someone!

As always, con badges, prints and fanzines are also available and will be mailed out a lot faster. I also still have 6 CD portfolios left! They're a steal at $30, they really are!

Comment on this entry with your email address if you're interested in a commission, and I'll contact you.

New Items In Stock -- Webpage Update
I have finally recieved my share of the [info]musicportfolio CDs in the mail, and today they have been added to the online catalogue at Snowfox.se. There is a complete artist list available on that page as well. A few pricing points have also been updated. I only have a limited (small) number of CDs available, so get yours while supplies last!

Please note that while all the standard items in the catalogue are priced in Swedish currency with the US/EU rates dependent on current exchange rates, the Symphonies in Fur Minor portfolios have a base price in US dollars with Swe/EU rates depending on current exchange rates.

I just browsed through my own copy of the CD, and all the art is wonderful and the interface really snazzy. You want to own this!

    Commission Status Change
The webpage was just updated to reflect this change as well.
Due to a large workload and a number of art projects I never seem to get time for, I will not be accepting commissions, excepting conbadges, for the remainder of the year. Of course commissions already in queue are not affected by this change. There may be single commission slots opened when my current queue is cleared. All of these commission slots will be open for barter rather than cold, hard cash, however. Note that my current plans are to reopen commissions again on January 1st 2007.

This is not to say that there won't be new art.

As soon as I recieve my copies, [info]musicportfolio CDs will be added to the online catalogue, and I have several pieces of artwork planned that will be available as prints when they are finished. I will try to note here when anything is updated.

I also have plans for a portfolio CD, which will likely debut at MFF 2007 along with an older portfolio project which I'm going to try to finally finish.
